Hi Tuva Stener!

Q: How are you doing today?

A: I’m great, but a little bit tired! I woke up at 04:00 this morning and couldn’t go back to sleep. (It seems to be a universal time when a lot of pregnant women wake up?!) But I turned it around and went to an early morning Pilates class. So I had a great start, but now the tiredness is starting to hit, haha.

Q: What's the best thing you've done for yourself during this pregnancy?

A: I’ve been practicing being present and in the moment. You know, learning to take things slower; resting, breathing, meditating, and connecting with the little life inside me.

Q: We love following you and your life under tuvaalicia – an inspiring little universe.
Have you always been an aesthetician?

A: Thank you so much! Yes, for as long as I can remember, I’ve been a visual thinker and loved seeing the beauty in life.
A typical Taurus behavior, I would say!

Q: What inspires you the most in your everyday life?

A: This question really got me thinking… It's hard to name just one thing! I draw so much inspiration from various sources, like my husband and friends, people on the street, Pinterest, architecture, old interior magazines, and books (I always look for them when I’m second-hand shopping).

Q: When do you feel your best?

A: When I’ve prioritized creative time for myself! Lately, I’ve actually started scheduling it in my calendar twice a week,
and it’s made such a difference in my mood and overall inspiration.

Q: It's autumn! Can you take us through a perfect October day for you right now?

A: Yeeesss, and I’m so excited for the crisp autumn air! A perfect day right now starts with a big breakfast, a slow walk in the autumn breeze with a friend, and then coming home to try out new recipes. I recently bought an Instant Pot and made my first batch of bone broth! I think I’ll get a lot of use out of it during postpartum.

Q: Do you have a clothing hack you swear by with a growing belly?

A: Find a pair of comfortable pants and stick to them! I’ve literally been living in my maternity denim for months now. But it doesn’t have to be maternity jeans, low waisted denim works perfectly as well!

Three quick ones:

Q: What do you read?
A: The Fourth Trimester by Kimberly Ann Johnson.

A book I highly recommend to all pregnant women and to the people close to them!

Q: What do you listen to?
A: Calm music, like meditation playlists. It’s funny because pre-pregnancy,

all I listened to was electronic and techno music, but now it just feels too intense.
Q: What do you watch?
A: My guilty pleasure, Love is Blind.

Q: Finally – do you have a tip for other expectant mothers?
A: In the world we live in, I feel like pregnancy is often overlooked, as if life should just continue at the same pace as before.

But my advice is to remember that we’re the ones with the power to press the pause button and slow things down.

And when we do, I’ve found that society actually supports it. So be kind to yourself and practice resting.

I could never have imagined how tired I would be during the first trimester.

Sure, I’ve been tired before, but this was something else, an exhaustion that took over my entire body and mind.

All I wanted to do for weeks was sleep.

So please remind yourself that you’re creating literal LIFE inside you, and give yourself a break. <3
